Juan Crespo, a proud Bloomfield alumnus, has returned as the Academic and Enrichment Coordinator at Metacomet and Carmen Arace Intermediate School, bringing his passion for technology, mentorship, and innovation to local students. "I’ve always wanted to come back to Bloomfield and give back to our youth. This community shaped who I am, and I want to do the same for the next generation. Keeping Bloomfield traditions alive as a Warhawk alumnus means everything to me."
A specialist in 3D modeling, CAD design, and virtual reality, Crespo is eager to integrate technology and pop culture into education. "I want to bring the future to our present—introducing students to virtual reality, 3D printing, and game development. These skills will prepare them for careers in tech, engineering, and digital media."
His work in the Boys and Girls after-school program previously led to awards and grants in robotics and STEM, and he hopes to build on that success in his new role.
Beyond the classroom, Crespo serves as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, guiding three young mentees.
"I believe in the power of mentorship. I love connecting with students through gaming, academics, and real-life experiences. Sometimes, just having someone to listen can make all the difference."
Now, working alongside former teachers and mentors, Crespo feels right at home.
"It’s an incredible feeling to be back in Bloomfield, this time as a mentor and educator. Seeing familiar faces—some who once taught me—makes it feel like an extended family."
With Crespo’s
dedication, expertise, and passion, Bloomfield students are poised for an exciting future, bridging tradition with innovation.
