On Tuesday, October 17th, Bloomfield High School hosted its annual college fair in the BHS Gymnasium. Over one hundred colleges/universities, trade schools, and the military attended the event, providing students from both Bloomfield High School and Global Experience Magnet School with the opportunity to network with admissions officers and become better acquainted with the college process.
The college fair provides our students with the opportunity to explore a variety of different colleges/universities at once and learn about the many options they have for higher education. This event continues to grow yearly with more representatives joining each year. Student’s grades 9-12 attended the event and were encouraged to ask questions and get information from any of the schools that interested them.
For the under classmen, the college fair provides them with the time to see how many possibilities there are for them following high school. They can explore all the opportunities and start to make a plan for when they will be taking those next steps. For our upper classmen, the college fair was a chance for them to meet with those colleges/universities that they hope to apply to and narrow down their decisions. With so many admissions representatives on site, they got to speak to someone face to face and get a real feel for the environment of the school, in hopes of narrowing down their list of prospective schools.
Thank you to the BHS Guidance Department for a great event!
