AP Psychology is in it's second year as a full time course at BHS and going strong. This year BHS was able to offer two full sections of the course, due to the increased interest of students. These students will be taking the AP Psychology Exam this Spring on May 16, 2024.
Currently, AP Psychology students are working on diagnosing different disorders by evaluating brain functions, hemisphere specialization, and the nervous/endocrine system. From their evaluations, students are then able to determine whether their chosen character has a psychological or substance-related disorder. Students were able to select any character to perform their diagnosis, students chose to analyze characters ranging from SpongeBob to Homer Simpson. They then had to present their findings to the class through a poster or power point presentation. This is a favorite project for AP Psychology students who get to take a deeper look into the brain of one of their favorite characters and use their creativity to deliver their analysis to their class.
