On Tuesday night, in freezing temperatures and some unexpected snow, the Bloomfield Warhawks defeated East Catholic High School in the Quarterfinals of the Class 'S' State Tournament, 22-21. The game was a close one with the score 14-14 at the end of the half and 21-14 in favor of East Catholic at the start of the 4th quarter. With 1:39 left in the game, Quarterback Cameron White threw a 21 yard pass to Romar Heron to make the score 21-20. Down by 1 the Warhawks needed to make a two point conversion to win the game. Senior, Marlon Britton powered into the endzone to score the two points that the Warhawks needed to seal their victory.
With this victory, the Warhawks will now make their seventh straight appearance in the Semifinals. The Warhawks will take on Waterbury Career Academy at Home on Sunday, December 8th at 12:30 p.m. to see who advance to the championship game.
