Students in the NEST Preschool classroom use their early literacy skills and creative play to build and retell the fairy tale: The Three Bears

After reading the story, The Wolf Who Cried Boy by Bob Hartman, students in Miss Silva's Kindergarten class use art supplies and classroom items to create their own setting from the story. The student in the picture is using feathers as trees. Very Creative!!!!

Good evening,
We have been made aware of racist and derogatory text messages that have been sent to Bloomfield students and community members. It is our understanding that individuals across the country have received these hateful messages, and the Town of Bloomfield and the Bloomfield Board of Education stand united in condemning any and all forms of racism, prejudice, or hate within our community. We are deeply disturbed by the recent remarks involving this racially offensive language, which violates the core values of respect, inclusion, and equality that we hold as a town and school district.
Racist language, behavior, and rhetoric have no place in Bloomfield, and we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community feels safe, valued, and respected.
In conjunction with the Bloomfield Police Department, we are actively responding to these incidents and will work with local, state, and federal authorities to assist in their investigation.

PL BookCon event for kids and teens – Friday, June 28 from 4-5:30 PM and 6-8 PM! The flyer is attached.
We have about 2300 books ready to give away to youth…for free! No registration necessary. They just come to the event, we give them a free tote bag, and they get to select fun books to take home and read over the summer. We also have some fun extras like key chains, bookmarks, posters, and more. [There’s also a small amount of Spanish language books as well.]
The focus of the event is youth selecting their own books, but in the final hour from 7-8 PM we are allowing caregivers and teachers to walk through and make selections on behalf of youth.
Please feel free to share the attached info with any of your families and/or staff.
The event will be held offsite at 330 Park Avenue in the Great Room in the Senior Services area.
I hope to see a lot of you and our local families there!

Bloomfield Public Schools, in partnership with Integrated Health Care Services, is inviting you to a virtual informational session on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. as part of a Board of Education Special meeting.
Join us as we learn about a grant opportunity that would provide Laurel Literacy Academy and the Carmen Arace building with School Based Health Centers that are coordinated, culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate. The Centers would provide primary care, dental care, social/emotional behavioral health services, and health education, leading to increased access to these valuable resources for our Bloomfield students.
We invite you to attend this virtual meeting and learn with us as we explore this opportunity. Visit our website, under "Events" for more information.

Good day,
Bus 14 is running late today. Sorry for the delay.

The State of Connecticut recently changed the kindergarten-entry age. Starting in the 2024-2025 school year all children entering kindergarten must be five years of age on, or before, Sept. 1.
