Congrats to Anne Burrows! BHS' head girls track & field coach has been awarded the 2023 CT Girls High School Track & Field Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
This is the fourth time Coach Burrows has won the award, which recognizes leadership and a team’s overall success in a season. In the past 10 years, the BHS girls track & field team has won 17 state championships.
Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School recently involved families, staff and a local business in a “Wintonbury Outdoor Work Day” beautification project. Volunteers helped to prepare the campus’ outdoor learning spaces for the start of school. They assembled new garden beds, weeded and filled them with soil donated by Flamig Farm in Simsbury and refreshed courtyards. A core theme at Wintonbury is Scientific Inquiry.
Friendly reminder to our families: Bloomfield Public Schools first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 30. We look forward to the start of a new school year!
