Please join us in congratulating our incredible Girls and Boys Conference AND State Champion Indoor Track & Field Teams! What an exceptional weekend for our student-athletes and coaches!
Our Girls Indoor Track & Field Team captured their 16th consecutive Indoor State Championship title — an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects years of commitment, excellence, and teamwork. Our Boys Indoor Track & Field Team earned their third straight State title and 10th overall championship, continuing a proud and powerful tradition of success.
These championships represent more than victories — they showcase perseverance, grit, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship. Our student-athletes represented our entire school community with pride.
Special thank you to Coach Anne Burrows and her assistants Coach Britnee Watkins and Coach Adia Cavalier as well as Coaches Garfield and Michelle White and Coach Damian Larkins for your dedication to our department. Your leadership, mentorship, and commitment to excellence make achievements like this possible.
We wish all of our athletes continued success as they travel to New Haven on Saturday, February 21 to compete in the State Open. We are incredibly proud and excited to cheer you on!
Let’s go!

A special highlight was the inspiring work of Mairi Carchrie-Leigh, a senior at Global Experience Magnet School, who led a meaningful Day of Service as part of her Eagle Scout project. With support from a fellow student and members of BSA Troop 1149, Mairi organized and sorted donations for her community hygiene pantry - an initiative she has worked on for months to provide essential personal care items for individuals and families in need. The pantry will soon be installed at Wapping Community Church in South Windsor, creating a lasting resource for the community.
Mairi’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to service embody the true spirit of MLK Day - turning words into action and making a real difference. We are proud of all our students and staff who continue building a more inclusive, respectful, and caring community every day. You can read the full article on our district website.

Help Our Seniors Dress for Success!
The Bloomfield School to Career Office is collecting gently used, clean business-casual clothing to support Bloomfield High School seniors as they prepare for their Senior Capstone Career Expo this spring. Blazers, ties, and professional accessories can make a big difference as students practice real-world workplace expectations and present their final projects with confidence.
As you refresh your wardrobe, consider donating to our new “Dress for Success” room at BHS! Drop-off locations are at the Bloomfield High School Main Office and the Bloomfield Board of Education front foyer.
Together, we can help our seniors look and feel ready for the future!

Students engaged in a meaningful civic discourse and participated in a thoughtful Q&A session, asking important questions about leadership, public service, and the role of citizens in shaping our future.
Thank you to the Governor for inspiring our students and reinforcing the importance of civic engagement and respectful dialogue!

From helping classmates to offering compliments, these small acts made a big impact—strengthening connections and fostering a caring, respectful school community. We are so proud of our students for showing that kindness truly matters!

We are excited to announce that Ms. Tamika Lipscomb has been appointed as the next Director of Bloomfield’s Extension, our before- and after-school care program, effective January 20, 2026. Following a rigorous interview process, Ms. Lipscomb was selected to lead the program after the retirement of longtime Director, Ms. Kristine Johnson. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Lipscomb as she steps into this important role!
As part of the update, BHS held a “Name the New Warhawk” contest open to students and staff. The winning name - Wynn - was submitted by math teacher Ms. Dubois.
Be on the lookout for Wynn the Warhawk throughout the school year as he rallies school spirit and celebrates all that it means to be part of Bloomfield High School!

Our students recently kicked off Ski Club at Ski Sundown! They began on Friday, January 9th and will be hitting the slopes every week through the beginning of February.
Beyond learning a new skill, students are building confidence and trying something new. As one student shared, “Skiing has helped me step out of my comfort zone.” We are re so proud of our students for embracing new experiences and challenging themselves!

On December 15, our Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School community came together to celebrate our annual Kindness Day—a tradition since 2015. Students spread joy through handmade gifts, songs, stories, and shared play, showing how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. We are so proud of our students for helping create a caring, welcoming, and peaceful school community!
