The State of Connecticut recently changed the kindergarten-entry age. Starting in the 2024-2025 school year all children entering kindergarten must be five years of age on, or before, Sept. 1. The district’s next free Family Workshop Series is Thursday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m., at the town’s community center, 330 Park Ave. The topic is “The Self-Care and Parenting Connection - Defining Self-Care and What it Means to You.” The family workshop series will continue into 2024.

BHS' Harris Agriscience and Technology Center hosts Holiday Bazaar today, 5:30 p.m. A great night of fun is on the agenda.

Schools are conducting Parent Teacher Conferences on December 6-8. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to meet with their children’s teachers so they can play a role in their child’s academic and social development. There will be Early Dismissal on those days.

BHS is also hosting Financial Aid Night tonight, December 5, 6 p.m., in the BHS Library for all parents/guardians of seniors. University of Hartford Director of Student Financial Aid Katherine Presutti will explain how to apply for financial aid and discuss the relevant forms.
