Teachers are ready and excited about today's first day of school! ... More images from Tuesday's powerful all-day Professional Development Day, which guided about 500 certified and non-certified teachers on what they need to do to be successful in the 2023-24 year. Approximately 75 workshops were conducted.



CAMS' & CAIS' annual tradition of having parents, guardians and community members greet children coming off the school bus has been postponed to Friday morning, Sept. 1, due to rain.



Bloomfield High School was abuzz Tuesday - a day before the first day of school -
as about 500 certified and non-certified teachers participated in 75 professional-development sessions.
The WINS Day - What I Need to Succeed - topics included team building, understanding emotional trauma, connecting with families, proactive and collaborative problem-solving, teaching multilingual learners and leveraging technology to improve student performance.
Our teachers are ready for the 2023-24 school year!

We are back! Convocation 2023-2024 was awesome. We heard from BPS alumni who shared the impact our district had on their life and where they are now. We cannot wait to see the students tomorrow!




Monday's district convocation was the last one for both Superintendent Dr James Thompson and Bloomfield Board of Education Chairman Donald Harris. Both have served the district with distinction and are retiring this year after 12 years of service.



Bloomfield Public Schools Convocation 2023 was an ideal time to welcome back staff for the start of a new school year, Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Attendees heard from administrative and staff leaders, listened to four successful Bloomfield High School alumnus talk about the value of a BPS education and congratulated district 2023 Teacher of the Year Kimberly Thode from Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School.
